The Guzmania Variada appreciates natural but filtered light. It fears direct sunlight, which could burn its foliage and fade its colorful bract. It will particularly enjoy living spaces where the light is soft and regular.

• Exposure: indirect light, bright partial shade, without direct rays.
• Ideal: living room, bedroom, office, or bright bathroom in the city.
• Temperature: between 18 and 24 °C, protected from cold drafts.
• Substrate: light and draining potting soil, such as a mix for green or epiphytic plants.

In winter, reduce watering and keep only the heart and soil barely moist: the Guzmania prefers slight water shortage to excess.
