Ficus ginseng — Sculptural indoor bonsai

🌤️ Bright interior / Partial shade • 🌿 Evergreen foliage • 💧 Moderate watering • 🪴 Easy care

The Ficus ginseng is a fascinating indoor plant, appreciated for its exposed roots and natural bonsai silhouette. A symbol of serenity and balance, it brings a zen and refined touch to any interior.

Originating from tropical Asia, this ficus microcarpa with a sculptural trunk is known for its longevity and ease of care. Perfect for creating a calming atmosphere in a living room, office, or bright entrance.

Exposure & location

The Ficus ginseng likes bright light without direct sun. It thrives in bright rooms, at a stable temperature, away from drafts. In summer, it can be placed outside on a sheltered terrace.

  • Exposure: bright interior or partial shade.
  • Ideal: living room, office, or entrance with natural light.
  • Temperature: between 18 and 28 °C, avoid cold (<15 °C).
  • Substrate: rich and well-drained to avoid water stagnation.

Verdeia tip: regularly rotate your ficus for even growth and well-balanced foliage.

Watering & care

  • Watering: moderate; water as soon as the soil surface dries, without excess.
  • Fertilizer: once a month in spring and summer with a liquid fertilizer for green plants.
  • Pruning: cut young shoots to maintain its compact bonsai shape.
  • Care: simple; dust the leaves to promote photosynthesis.
  • Repotting: every 2 years in spring in a rich and airy substrate.

Use non-calcareous water and ensure good drainage to preserve the health of its thick roots.

Decor ideas & plant combinations

The Ficus ginseng stands as a true living sculpture. Its knotted trunk and dense foliage make it a natural focal point in a zen, minimalist, or contemporary decor.

  • To pair with: Zamioculcas, Sansevieria, or tropical bonsais for a harmonious composition.
  • Ideal pot: matte ceramic or decorative pot with texture to highlight its natural elegance.
  • Ambiance: perfect for a reading corner, a calming entrance, or a green office.

Play on contrasts: pair your ficus with natural materials like light wood or raw stone for a zen effect.

Verdeia tips

  • Place your Ficus ginseng in a bright room, without direct sun.
  • Water sparingly; the soil should never remain soggy.
  • Lightly mist the foliage in summer to maintain good ambient humidity.
  • Regularly pinch young shoots to maintain a balanced silhouette.
  • Avoid moving the plant often: it likes stability.

Each package is designed to ensure that your plant arrives in perfect health and without stress related to transport.

Will the plant look exactly like the photo?

The photos shown are true to the variety and the announced size (pot diameter and approximate height).

Each plant being unique, slight differences in shape, foliage, or shade may exist — that is what makes them so charming!

What are the delivery times and conditions?

Plants are shipped from Monday to Wednesday to prevent them from being stuck over the weekend.

You receive a tracking link as soon as the package is dispatched.

What to do upon receiving my plant?

Open your package upon receipt, carefully remove the plant from its packaging and let it acclimate for 24 hours in its new environment before watering it.

If it has slightly suffered from transport, it will quickly regain its shape after one or two days in the light.

Can I put this plant outside?

It depends on the species. Most indoor plants prefer a bright place without direct sunlight, while outdoor plants like more direct light.

Refer to the exposure advice in the product description to know if it is suitable for a balcony, a terrace, or indoors.

What to do if my plant arrives damaged?

If your plant appears to have suffered during transport, contact us within 48 hours with a photo of the problem.

Our team will take the time to assess the situation and find the best solution: replacement, partial refund, or recovery advice.

Your satisfaction and the health of your plant remain our priority 🌿.

Can I return a plant?

Since plants are living beings, we do not accept standard returns.

However, we guarantee good health upon delivery: if the plant arrives damaged, it will be replaced free of charge.
