Aloe Spider — Ø10.5 cm — H15 cm
🌵 Spectacular graphic rosette • ☀️ Direct sunlight • 💧 Very low watering • 🌟 Ultra easy care • 🐾 Non-toxic
The Aloe Spider is a graphic and compact succulent, known for its rosette of thin, elongated leaves that resemble spider legs. This spectacular variety features fleshy green leaves with serrated edges that create an architectural and modern visual effect in your urban jungle.
Originating from South Africa, the Aloe Spider belongs to the large aloe family, succulent plants adapted to arid climates. Its fleshy leaves store water, making it extremely drought-tolerant and perfect for beginners or those who forget to water. With its current height of 15 cm and pot diameter of 10.5 cm, it becomes a small graphic succulent perfect for your urban jungle, ideal for small spaces, sunny windowsills, or succulent arrangements seeking an ultra-easy and sculptural plant.
Exposure & Location
The Aloe Spider loves direct sun and bright light. The more light it receives, the more compact its rosette and the more intense its colors.
- Exposure: direct sun to bright light (several hours per day).
- Ideal: sunny south-facing windowsill, bright veranda, balcony, or terrace in warm seasons.
- Temperature: 15 to 30 °C, tolerates heat but fears frost.
- Substrate: very well-draining, special cactus and succulent mix (cactus soil + perlite + sand).
Verdeia tip: the more sun it gets, the denser and more graphic its rosette will be, sometimes with reddish hues on the edges.
Watering & Care
- Watering: very low; let the substrate dry completely between waterings.
- Frequency: about once every 3-4 weeks in spring-summer, once a month or less in winter.
- Drainage: absolutely essential — use a pot with drainage holes and very well-draining substrate.
- Humidity: perfectly tolerates dry air, no need for misting.
- Fertilizer: once a month in spring-summer with diluted liquid fertilizer for succulents.
- Winter rest: drastically reduce watering in autumn-winter.
Better to forget watering than to overwater — excess water causes the plant to rot quickly.
Decor Ideas & Plant Combinations
With its spectacular graphic rosette and small size, the Aloe Spider becomes a perfect sculptural touch for sunny arrangements. It deserves a bright spot where its architectural silhouette can be admired.
- To pair with: other succulents (Echeveria, Haworthia, Crassula), small cacti, or Sedum to create a varied dry garden.
- Ideal pot: decorative pot in terracotta, matte ceramic, or modern pot to highlight the green rosette.
- Ambiance: perfect on a sunny windowsill, bright shelf, balcony, or mixed succulent arrangement.
Group several succulents of different shapes to create an ultra-graphic and easy-care mini dry garden.
Verdeia Tips
- Maintain consistent bright light — in shade, the rosette will stretch and lose its compact shape.
- Absolutely avoid overwatering — it is the main cause of rot.
- In winter, drastically reduce watering to respect its vegetative rest.
- Repot every 2-3 years in spring with fresh, very well-draining substrate.
- Gently remove dry leaves at the base to keep a clean rosette.
- Handle with care — the serrated edges can prick slightly.
- Completely safe for pets — perfect if you have curious cats or dogs!
